With so much happening around the City College community, The Channels would like to offer a single place for the most important information. We’ll be compiling a weekly list of current and upcoming events to keep readers up to date on campus news.

The Well will be hosting a virtual workshop, titled Human Sex Trafficking Awareness,” led by Standing Together to End Sexual Assault (STESA) from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 12, on Zoom. The workshop will focus on the importance of supporting survivors, risk factors and comprehending human sex trafficking that occurs in our county.

COVID-19 vaccines will be available at a six-day clinic at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort beginning Monday, April 12, through Saturday, April 17. Appointment registration is available for those age 16 and older.

Vaccinations are also available through Cottage Hospital. Appointments are open for anyone age 16 and up as well. Appointments can be scheduled at https://myturn.ca.gov

-The 11th annual Scheinfeld New Venture Challenge business plan and pitch competition is officially seeking business pitches and ideas. The event will be hosted virtually by City College’s Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and is open to college and high school students in Santa Barbara County. The entry deadline is midnight on April 15. 

 

-The Art Department and Atkinson Gallery at Santa Barbara City College have announced their Annual Student Exhibition. The exhibit will be online and is set to launch at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 9, and run until Friday, May 7. The Art Department scholarships will also be announced. The exhibit will display several works including 2D design, 3D design, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.
