SBCC women’s soccer blows out another opponent

The women’s soccer team continues to show form as they comfortably beat L.A. West 6-0 on Friday at La Playa Stadium.

The Vaqueros are on an impressive run scoring 25 goals in two games. Against Hancock, City College broke a record for scoring most goals,19, in a single game, the previous record was 13.

Striker Jessica Domenichelli continues to show her appetite for goals as she scored her 18th goal for the season and in her fourth consecutive game.

Jenna Rubin and Jacalyn Schmidt each netted a goal in the first half, handing City College a 3-0 led at halftime.

Kate Earle, who assisted to Schmidt’s goal, shot her fifth goal for the season after a long run in the second.

Cheyenne Rodriguez, and Hannah Zech contributed with two more goals to seal the victory.

City College is now 13-2-2 for the season, and the offense is ranked no. 2 in the state with 72 goals. Coming from a disappointing last season, the Vaqueros hopes to squeeze their way in the Western State Conference play-offs.

Next game is on Friday Nov. 5 when The Vaquero’s face Oxnard on the road at 2 p.m.
