Mercedes burglarized in SBCC parking lot

Feb. 17

At 4:25 p.m. security officers received a call from Santa Barbara Police Department reporting that they got a 911 call from the emergency call box about someone with a gun by Pershing Park on Castillo. When officers responded there was no one in the area. The call is suspected to be a prank.

Feb. 22

At 11:30 a.m. security officers received a call about a burglary in the front parking lot of the Wake Center. The front driver’s side window of a Mercedes Benz was smashed and valuables were stolen including 40 dollars, gold jewelry, and credit cards.

Feb. 23

At 1:15 p.m. security officers received a report from a student about a hit and run accident in Lot 5 2. The student said that he returned to his car and found it damaged with a note on the window. It admitted backing into the car and provided a first name and phone number. When security called the number, it was disconnected.

Feb. 24

At 10:55 a.m. security officers noticed people on the West Campus Bluff apparently about to smoke marijuana. The group saw security approaching and hid stuff in their pockets. Upon questioning a student became aggressive, verbally abusive and refused to identify himself. He eventually gave officers his I.D. and was referred for discipline.
