Incident Report – Hit-and-run on bridge

March 24

A hit and run on the east side of the bridge crosswalk was called into the security office at 12:41 p.m. The vehicle brushed against a female student’s leg, ran over her foot, and continued driving.

March 25

A male student suffered a significant head injury from colliding with another student during a flag football class. Security received the call at 1:20 p.m. to help the student. The student had fallen to the ground and hit his head after colliding with the other, who remained unharmed. When the student got up, he was “shaky,” and not able to remember the date or day of the week, the report said. Paramedics arrived and transferred the student to Cottage Hospital.

March 26

Between 12:35 and 2:05 p.m., a male student’s truck tailgate was stolen in the West Campus parking structure.

April 1

A $1,600 iMac was stolen from an office in the Physical Science Building between 6 p.m. the previous evening and 10:20 a.m. the morning of discovery. A City College maintenance supervisor found the Physical Science Building Room – 210 window broken from forced entry, with about $700 in damages. The Santa Barbara Police Department is investigating the case.

April 7

At 12:15 p.m., security received a call about two men who were intoxicated on the cement steps leading to Cliff Dr. and Rancheria St. The two men were not students, and when asked to leave, one man was too drunk to stand. Santa Barbara Police Department responded and found the man had numerous little sealed bags of marijuana. He was helped down the stairs, cuffed, and taken away.

April 8

Security received a call at 2:10 p.m. about a female student behaving violently during a meeting with a City College dean. The student was complaining loudly, pounding on the table with her fists, and “stormed out of the office telling the dean that karma would come back and get him,” according to a witness’ email.

April 9

Vicodin was stolen from a student’s backpack left unaccompanied in a classroom between 12:50 and 1:05 p.m.
