Sophomore Allyson Porter led the Vaqueros to upsets over Golden West and Fullerton, in Fullerton Quad women’s volleyball event on Saturday.
Porter started strong, pounding 16 kills while Antonia Antes added 15 in a 3-2 win against Fullerton (25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 22-25, 15-11).
Porter and Antes continued to shine against No. 13 Golden West, as they combined for 27 kills.
Last year, the Vaqueros won the Western State Conference and hope to repeat. This year’s veteran group is currently ranked No. 18 in the state.

Head coach Ed Gover was thrilled about the performance by his players, and hopes the Vaqueros will continue as the season goes on.
