SBCC student stalked and harassed by ex-boyfriend

Nov. 23 – 1:45 p.m.

A male student stalked and harassed his former girlfriend in the Luria Library. He demanded that she give him her cellphone, and when she didn’t, he took it from her and threw it in the bushes. He then followed her across campus to her classroom. Campus Security located the suspect and escorted him off campus. She had previously filed a report with the Santa Barbara Police Department for an incident that occurred off-campus. A notice has been sent to him to see the dean of student discipline, but he has not shown up to any classes. She also filed a new report with the police department.

Nov. 25 – 12:40 a.m.

A brick wall under the bridge that connects East Campus to West Campus on Loma Alta Drive was vandalized with graffiti in three different places. The only comprehensible writing read “Sad Boys.” The graffiti was cleaned up shortly after the incident.

Nov. 30 – 10 a.m.

A staff member’s vehicle bumper and grill were damaged after being backed into by a student while she was stopped in Lot-3. The student, who was driving a white Honda Accord, backed into her, then got out and asked if she was okay. The student then got back in her vehicle and drove away before the staff person could read the license plate.

Nov. 30 – 4:05 p.m.

A male student harassed a female student between 3:35 p.m. and 4 p.m. while practicing in a room in the Drama and Music Building on West Campus. The male student made inappropriate comments to the female, and was asked to leave by another student. Security identified the suspect, and referred him to the dean of student discipline.

Nov. 30 – 6:15 p.m.

A black Jeep was damaged by a black SUV between 6:13 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. while parked in Lot 4-C near the Business-Communications Center. The Jeep was parked, and the SUV scraped the passenger side while it was pulling into a space. A witness who saw the accident left a note on the victim’s car with the license plate number, and they were advised to file a report with the police.

Dec. 1 – 10:25 p.m.

A man was escorted off campus when he became aggressive towards security officers after being found unconscious in Lot 1-B near the East Campus Classrooms. He was believed to be intoxicated and to have been in a fight, according to Campus Security. He was found with cuts on his knuckles and a cut and bruise under one of his eyes, with his bike was lying next to him on the ground. After security woke him up, he pushed an officer, and started using foul language. The police and paramedics were called and he was transported to Cottage Hospital.

Dec. 2 – 1 p.m.

A student was found with 4 oz. of marijuana in his backpack after staff reported an odor coming from a backpack located in the Life Fitness Center. When security made contact with the student, he admitted that he had marijuana, and did not have a medical referral card. The drugs were confiscated and turned over the Santa Barbara Police Department, and he was referred to the dean of discipline.

Dec. 2 – 8:55 p.m.

A female student reported to security that an unknown male had his hand down his pants, and was possibly masturbating. The student was typing and said she felt something touch her, and when she turned around a man with his hand down his pants was behind her. He was startled, sat down, made small talk and then left. She had never seen him before, and said he had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. She was told to contact security if she ever saw him again.

Dec. 3 – 2:20 p.m.

A student’s bike was stolen between 7:50 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. while locked to the rack by the stairs on Cliff Drive. The $300 bike’s front tire was U-locked to the rack, and when she returned the tire was still there, but the bike was gone.
