The City College men’s volleyball team finished in ninth-place at the 12-team Long Beach Invitational on Jan. 29.
Middle blocker Cody Zoesch notched 25 kills and a .581 hitting percentage while Kyle Benskin collected 17 kills and hit .485. Logan Wais finished with 41 kills and hit .329 in 10 sets.

The Vaqs’ defeated Hope International 25-23 in the first round of the consolation playoffs but went 0-3 in pool play. In the semifinals, they led L.A. Pierce 24-21 before dropping a 28-26 decision.
Long Beach swept the tournament 5-0, beating Orange Coast 25-22 in the final.
The Vaqueros will take on Grossmont and San Diego Mesa on Feb. 5 at Palomar College.
