The partnership between Jean Carlo Guzman and Pierre Mattson proved to be deadly as the Vaqueros soccer team sailed passed Glendora 4-0 Friday.

The storyline of the game was Jean-Carlo Guzman goal finishing touch and Pierre Mattson passing vision, as “JC” scored three goals and Mattson tallied three assists.

Guzman scored in the 22nd, 69th, and 84th minute penaltykick, while Roberto Santana notched his first for the season at the start of the second half.

Guzman, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, has been out for the majority of the season with a groin injury. His comeback proved to be vital as the Vaqueros look to clinch another title.

The number three-ranked Vaquero’s are yet to loose a game in October, and have the number one ranked defense. The team has only conceded seven goals in 16 games.

Friday’s game was Yohna Adrabi’s eleventh clean sheet this season.

Next the Vaqueros open a three-game home game stretch on Tuesday when Glendale comes to visit La Playa Stadium at 7 p.m.
