November 9, 2009
The Vaqueros won Saturday night’s game against the West Los Angeles Valley Monarchs 41-24, breaking their three-game losing streak.
Cale Carson returned from ineligibility to lead the Vaqs to victory in his second start after starter John Uribe went down with an elbow injury
“We had some of our best offense and defense last night,” Head Coach Craig Moropoulos said.
Sophomore Tristan Carter scored three rushing touchdowns, totaling 148 yards. During one play, he broke six tackles.
By the end of the game, the Vaqueros were only up by three points. Within the last five minutes, they went on to score two touchdowns.
Even though the Monarchs were known for being a high scoring team, the Vaqs were able to dominate them and bring their record to 3-6 for the season. The final game of the season is next Saturday against the East Los Angeles Huskies.
