The City College men’s cross country team placed fourth on Friday afternoon at Shoreline park, lead by top runner Mark Morena, who placed fourth after winning back to back races at Bakersfield and L.A. Pierce.
The women’s team failed to score as a team because its top runner Seanie Rigney was sidelined with an injury. Freshmen Erika Schaeffer picked up the slack for the Vaqs, and finished in third place with her best time of the season at 22:10, on the difficult course.
City College will race again on Oct. 27 at Cuesta for the WSC finals.
