A man with large knives in waiting room of Health and Wellness

Campus Security responded to a call at the Wake Center that several students were threatening another. According to the report, a student said that while she was delivering a presentation an argument started between her and a few of her classmates. She said that after class when she went to leave someone blocked her in with their car. Campus Security is still investigating.

Wednesday March 9, 11 a.m.

Campus Security responded to a call about suspicious behavior on the first floor of the Luria Library. According to the report, a female student told librarians that a man in the cubicle next to her was being loud and acting strange. When security officers went up to the man they saw him talking to himself and described him as disheveled. They talked to him, discovered he wasn’t a student, and escorted him off campus.

Wednesday March 9, Noon

A staff member at the Health and Wellness Center called Campus Security because a man was in the waiting room with a knife hidden in his jacket. When officers showed, they found a student with large knives tucked under his arm beneath his coat. The student explained that he was a culinary student on his way home and identified himself as such. Security took the knives because they were not being properly transported until the student picks them up on a later date.

Thursday March 10, 1 p.m.

Campus Security was called to an intentional hit-and-run in Parking Lot 2 C. A student reported she was competing for a parking spot with another car. She said the other car backed into her to push her out of the way to clear the space for him. There was no damage.
