Incident Report – iPods popular item for campus thieves

April 13

A student reported to campus security that his iPod had been stolen from the cafeteria lobby. The student told security he left it on a table and when he returned it was gone. When he asked nearby students if they had seen someone take it they said another guy came by and claimed it as his own.

At 12:45 p.m. security received a call about a solicitor selling a faulty salon package to students. A student told security he purchased a discount package for hair salons but the seller didn’t inform him that he would be responsible for a monthly charge of $19.95 for five months.

Security found the sales person, got the student a refund and informed her that soliciting isn’t allowed on campus.

April 15

Campus security received a report around 6 p.m. of a domestic dispute between a couple on the lawn below the Campus Center.

When security arrived the women were yelling at each other and security had to split them up.

After talking to them, security reported that they were in the process of breaking up. Security calmed them down before they left separately.

An instructor reported his vehicle was vandalized on Wednesday in Parking Lot 1-B. The instructor told security when he returned to his vehicle at the end of the day the word “ass” was carved into his paint above the gas cap opening.

At 3:30 p.m. security received a report of a theft from the Life Fitness Center. A student reported that his pants with wallet, iPod, sunglasses, car keys and belt had been stolen.
