The City College softball team moved their record to 7-3, splitting a pair of games in the Golden West Tournament at Huntington Beach this weekend.
The Vaqueros played a double header Friday and were edged out 4-3 in the early game against Pasadena. The Lancers secured the game in the fifth after they scored the go-ahead run.
In the second game, the Vaqs defeated San Bernardino Valley 4-3. Amanda Sharp hit a two-run single in the third to take the lead, 2-0. In the fifth, Kailey Snyder homered for the second consecutive game to power the Vaqs to victory.
The third game set for March 6 against East LA was rained out.
