Men’s tennis swept 9-0 by No. 2 seed

The Vaqueros lost another match Friday, falling 9-0 to No. 2 seed San Jacinto.

The season hasn’t started brightly for the Vaqs. After losing a heart-breaker to Riverside on Thursday, they had to regroup in 20 hours for San Jacinto.

Even with the loss, Coach Don Lowry saw some positives during the trip and said he hopes the team will bounce back. SBCC finished third in the Western State Conference last season. The Vaqs biggest triumph came in 2001 when they clinched their first title in 11 years.

SBCC’s next match is at 2 p.m. on Feb. 4 against Westmont College at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.
