Women’s volleyball on 7 game win streak

The City College women’s volleyball team defeated two top-10 schools on Saturday at the sports pavilion, overcoming eighth-in-state Fullerton 25-20, 26-24, 17-25, 27-25, and upsetting ninth-in-state Golden West for the first time in school history, 25-19, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21.

The two victories capped off a six game homestand where the Vaqueros went undefeated, improving their record to 7-1.

Opposite hitter Maria Mayer was dominant at the net, racking up 23 kills in the two games. Libero Case Jenkins kept the Vaqs defensive with 15 digs.

The Vaqs look to continue their winning streak on Tuesday at Glendale.
