Incident Log: Thefts common this week on campus

Feb. 23, 3:30 p.m.

The security office received a report of a stolen bike. The owner of a 2012 Trek bicycle left it unlocked at the bike rack outside the Administration Building near the radiology department at 12:50 p.m. When he returned at 3 p.m. the bicycle was missing. The value of the bicycle is $730. The student was advised to make a report with the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Feb. 27, 6:35 p.m.

Security officers received a report of a stolen jacket from the men’s locker room in the Physical Education Building.  The student stated that he locked his grey winter jacket in a locker and when he returned his lock and jacket were missing. There are no leads.

Feb. 29, 9:30 a.m.

The security office received a report of a stolen MacBook Pro laptop from an instructor’s office in the Interdisciplinary Center Room 324.  The instructor last reported seeing the laptop, which is City College property, when leaving the office the afternoon on Monday, Feb. 27.  The instructor reported that she found the office door unlocked when she returned to City College on Wednesday morning. The value of the laptop is $2,100. A report was made to the Santa Barbara Police department.

March 1, 10:45 a.m.

Security received a call from the Communications Lab in the Business Communication Center about a male student who had fainted. Security officers called 911 and the student was transported to Cottage hospital.
