Tuesday, April 15
Baseball vs. Moorpark (13 -3) W
After an almost three hour long game, the Vaqueros men’s baseball team was able to win their home game over Moorpark College with a 13-3 score. Throughout the innings it was close with a 3-3 tie heading into the bottom of the fifth. This marks City College’s fourth consecutive win over Moorpark this season.
Softball vs. Cuesta (11-3) L
City College’s softball team was defeated 11-3 away by Cuesta after a five-inning long day Tuesday April 15. Their overall record now stands at 9-9 with only two more games in the season to go. Cuesta’s overall score is 21-13 after playing 32 games.
Thursday, April 17
Baseball vs. Cuesta (9-8) W
After a close game lasting for almost four hours City College’s baseball team defeated Cuesta 9-8. With only a few more games ahead of them before the season ends the Vaqueros now hold an overall 22-12 record and are set to face Oxnard, Ventura, Allan Hancock and LA Pierce for their final games.
Softball vs. Moorpark (12-3) L
City College Softball honored its sophomores before the game. They took another loss facing Moorpark with an end score of 12-3 after six innings. They face Oxnard for their last game of the season on Tuesday, April 22.
Friday, April 18
Women’s Beach Volleyball vs. Moorpark (3-2) W & Cuesta (4-1) W
Vaqueros women’s beach volleyball was able to take home two wins on Friday, April 18. For their first game they played Moorpark and won 3-2. Moorpark’s overall record is currently 9-11. City College won their next game 4-1. As they won their fifth consecutive game, they wrapped up their season with a 16-6 overall.
Baseball vs. Oxnard (12-1) W
Baseball wins over Oxnard College 12-1, marking a winning streak of four consecutive games. With this win the Vaqueros now hold a 23-12 overall and 15-6 record in the Western State Conference with only three more games to go.
Men’s Volleyball 3C2A State Quarterfinal (3-2) W
City College men’s volleyball won their quarterfinal game 3-2 against Moorpark on Friday, April 18. This sets their overall record to 16-7 and they now advance to the semi-finals. They’re going to play Golden West College for the semi-finals on Thursday, April 24.
