City College baseball defeated Solano College twice in a three game series, taking the first game 9-8 and the third game 7-3.

After almost relinquishing a 7-2 lead, the Vaqs held on as Kylin Turnbull got the final three outs in the ninth, striking out two.

In the rubber match, Joe McGrew grounded the Falcons by pitching eight innings, allowing three runs on four hits and improving to 2-0 on the season.

The Vaqs had plenty of offense and jumped out to a 5-0 lead. Abe Ruiz hit his team leading fourth home run of the season.

City College will travel for a 2 p.m. game at Irvine College on Feb. 25
