Vaquero baseball loses sixth straight

With the first day of spring just around the corner, the Vaqueros bats have gone into hibernation.

The men have struggled to put runs on the board this past week, being out scored 18- 4 in their last three games.

The Vaqs managed only one run in Saturday’s away game versus Hancock College, extending the team’s losing streak to six straight.

The road does not get any easier this upcoming week as they play conference leading Cuesta and rival Oxnard.

Coach Teddy Warrecker is confident that the offense can get going by “instilling more aggressive attitude at the plate.” City College has just passed the mid-point of the season, and still has a lot of baseball to play.

“The great thing about sports is that it can turn around at any time,” Warrecker said.

The Vaqueros next home game is at 1 p.m. Saturday March 21, as they play host to Oxnard at Pershing Park.
