This year’s recipient of the Faculty Lecturer Award is nursing instructor Karolyn Hanna. Her presentation, entitled ‘Legacy of Our Past and Challenges of the Future,” will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 in the Sports Pavilion.

The Faculty Lecturer Award is City College’s highest honor bestowed upon a teacher. Voted on by students, the recipient delivers a special lecture.

The event is normally held in the Garvin Theatre, which is currently closed for renovations. Holding the lecture off-campus proved difficult, due to cost.

“The costs involved in this budget climate,” explained Hanna, made any off-campus venue cost prohibitive.

Nomination forms for next year’s Faculty Lecturer are now available at select locations on campus and on Pipeline.

Students can find nomination forms on Pipeline under ‘Campus Announcements,’ in the left column of their personal page. The forms can be submitted in any one of thirteen ballot boxes located around campus.

Each nomination must be signed by the student and all nominations must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
