The Channels has been selected by the Associated Collegiate Press Association as a finalist for the 2009 Online Pacemaker award.
It is one of the highest honors available to an Associate Collegiate Press member school.
“We at The Channels feel honored to be among the top online newspapers in North America,” News Editor Kenny Lindberg said.
The Channels was chosen as one of 42 finalist from an original 223 entries by Ellyn Angelotti, Interactivity Editor for the Poynter Institute.

“We’re taking advantage of the web,” Editor in Chief Rhys Alvarado said, adding, “It sets us apart from the rest.”
Winners will be announced at ACP/CMA’s College Media Convention in October in Austin, Texas.
