Review: Brandon Flowers’ solo album similar to band ‘The Killers’ style

The Killers‘ lead singer, Brandon Flowers, recently embarked on a solo career after six successful years with his band.

His debut solo album, “Flamingo,” kicks off with Flower’s singing about the city he grew up near in “Welcome to Las Vegas” with Sin City danger lyrics.

The highlight of the album seems to be “Jilted Lovers & Broken Hearts.” The song is the closest Flowers comes to The Killers’ original sound.

If you were a fan of “Day and Age,” or just a diehard supporter of The Killers, you should enjoy Flowers’ efforts.

However, I was much more of a fan of “Hot Fuss” and “Sam’s Town.” I think a solo album should display an artist’s talents hidden by their band.

The album does have its share of catchy hooks and is easy to listen to, but it surely won’t wow you.
