Review: Katy Perry’s new album ‘Teenage Dream’ a pop junkie pleaser

Katy Perry‘s CD “Teenage Dream,” released Aug. 24, is her second mainstream album following her first “One of the Boys.”

Katy, a cool and fun singer and songwriter, shows a lot of her energy in her latest album. The CD contains a good variety of songs, but sticks to Katy Perry’s unique style.

Katy’s song “Teenage Dream” starts the album with a bang. The song gave me high hopes for the rest of the CD. It is lively and bubbly and makes you feel as though you are a 15-year-old again.

The songs I like the most are “Teenage Dream” and, the first single of the album released on May 7, “California Gurls.” I also really enjoy listening to “E.T.” and “Pearl.

I listened to “Not Like the Movies,” the last song on the album, repeatedly before I actually started to like it. At first it didn’t have any impact on me, but after listening to it for the third time I could start to understand and respect the point of the song.

Overall, I think I am in love with Katy Perry’s new CD. The tracks are fun listening because you don’t have to think too much of the meaning behind the songs. The listener can simply enjoy Katy’s lively style.
