The first time through Amy Macdonald‘s first album made me fall in love immediately.
The Scottish accent and the nice guitar songs combined with genuine British pub feeling struck me at once. I was therefore very interested to see what her new album had to give.
The feeling is still there. As a whole, the album is very good with easy-listening songs and a very pleasant experience. What it lacks is hits.
All together the songs are great, but there is no one song that stands out as something special. The lead single “Don’t Tell Me That It’s Over” isn’t great enough to carry the whole album. This means the only people who will buy this album are the already faithful and it will be hard to win over new fans.
But for those who will take the time to listen, you’ll have 50 minutes of nice Scottish pop ahead of you.
