CD Revew – ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’

The top-selling album across the U.K., Tongue N’ Cheek, released Sept. 21, is the fourth album of East London rap and hip hop sensation Dizzie Rascal.

The 24-year-old has ruled the hip hop and rap stage in the U.K. ever since his first album in 2003.

Unlike previous albums, he wanted to go back to his East London roots. The lead track, “Bonkers,” with Armand Van Helden, has an electro-grime and hip hop feel to it, along with smart lyrics.

Rascal turns his attention to the ladies with his number-one single, “Dance Wiv Me,” in collaboration with Calvin Harris. It’s a mix of garage and electro, filled with seductive lyrics.

The downside with this album is that although his lyrics are fresh and up-to-date, his voice might be found annoying in some songs.

But if you want to hear something hip and different, it’s ” Tongue N’ Cheek.”
