Students, faculty and staff at City College can get haircuts, perms and facials at a discounted rate from the City College Cosmetology Academy.

The department is offering specials for the month of March, including shampoos starting at $7, perms starting at $25, and facials at $30.

Academy instructors oversee the students as they work but for those concerned about a student’s level of expertise an advanced student can be requested for an additional $2 charge.

“Most routine clients aren’t too concerned about getting an advanced student,” said Kerri James-Fenske, senior office assistant for the Cosmetology Academy. “People that come in often like to have the same students each time.”

These specials cannot be combined with any other offer, and gift certificates are available. Appointments can be made Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
