Brian Fahnestock, former vice president of business services for City College, has been selected as the newest member of the Metropolitan Transit District Board.
Fahnestock, who was at City College four years, was well known as an advocate of improving mass transit as a solution to the college’s parking problem.
“I’ve only been to two meetings so far,” Fahnestock said. “Right now I’m just learning.” Fahnestock said he doesn’t have any specific goals or major changes in mind yet.
“I’m an advocate for efficient and effective government, and I don’t think the system is not efficient and effective,” he said.
Fahnestock also has started a new software company to develop financial software for schools and government. He said he is very excited about the business, which is going well.
Though he is no longer associated with the college, Fahnestock says he will be keeping an eye out for City College students.
