Free legal aid is now available to City College students once a week in the Student Life Center.
Local attorney Josh Webb from the law office of Robin L. Unander will be available to answer questions from students concerning legal matters ranging from landlord/tenant issues to criminal misdemeanors and family law from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday this semester.
Paid for by City College, the service is free to students.
Unander recommended bringing relevant documents to the nt. She stressed a one-on-one with Webb does not constitute representation.
“A student can say they’ve spoken with an attorney,” after utilizing the service. In addition, a referral to a colleague will be offered if deemed necessary.
Though Webb can see a maximum of six students each Thursday, not every half hour slot gets filled with an appointment. So, if a student has need of legal help, dropping in is encouraged. But those with scheduled meetings get top priority.
Appointments can be made by contacting Amy Collins, student program advisor, by dropping in the Office of Student Life, or calling 730-4062.
