Review: ‘Halo, Reach’

This fall, gamers worldwide were introduced to the final chapter of one of the most successful game series of all time. “Halo: Reach”Bungie studios swan song serves as an homage to their creation.

It was finally a chance for the developers to do away with previous conventions set by their market-dominating franchise and get as crazy as possible. Gamer expectation has never been higher for a first-person shooter release. And this one delivers.

Those familiar with the series know that, along with the captivating narratives that anchor the game, the real demand comes from the online experience.

Touting an “M for Mature” rating, the game tends to go far beyond what you might imagine as mature once the Xbox Live connection is established. One day of game play ends up with more ‘Tea-baggers’ than a GOP national convention.

As an avid Halo series connoisseur, Reach brings more to the table than ever before. Yet they haven’t sacrificed a single in-game aspect, solidifying the franchise at the top of the gaming industry. “Halo: Reach” may be the end of the series for Bungie, but its legacy will live on far beyond the death of the Xbox.
