The City College Student Labor Action Project club has requested that all classes tomorrow be held on the grass on West Campus to create a visual and political statement in support of peace and justice.
Tomorrow will mark the four-year anniversary of a mass protest that brought together millions of people from around the world against the war in Iraq.
In commemoration, students at the University of California Santa Barbara have also organized a student strike against the war in Iraq.
“It’s a very important part of democracy to share your voice,” said Shawn Tallant, co-chair of the club.
Tallant also asked professors who do not have the time or do not want to highlight Iraq to connect their class’s curriculum to the institution of war so that students could discuss its far-reaching impact.
For those who have questions, Tallant can be contacted at (805)-448-4530.
