Review: “Evernote” an advanced version of “Notes” app for iPhone

Too many times I’ve had a brilliant idea and then “blink,” the light bulb above my head burns out, and that brilliant idea is gone in a flash.

In that moment, a swift shuffle through my bag to jot down the thought on my notepad feels like more of a burden than anything, especially if you’re lazy like me.

One thing I always have easily accessible however is my iPhone. What don’t we love about it? It’s a compact storage unit that’s light in the palm, and practically endless on storing data.

An application that’s preprogrammed on the iPhone is the “Notes” app. Sure it works, but it’s just like writing unorganized class notes; the notes are not compartmentalized, only showing the dates of when each note was written.

A more advanced and organized version of a note app is the free “Evernote.” This app takes not only text notes, but voice and picture notes, as well. You can also title your notes so that you know the subject of the note with one glance, and tag your notes so that several notes can be compiled into any category you’d like.

Another great addition to the app is the “favorites” feature that lets you decide which current notes are most important to you. You can also sync your memos from the Notes app on your iPhone.

Who knows, your brilliant idea that normally comes and goes in a beat could be fostered and life transforming. In this modern day, swiftly jotting down that quick “Aha!” thought just might culminate into a “da Vinci idea.”
