Public forum will brainstorm ideas for campus sustainability

Green resources are the talk of City College’s new plan to create a district-wide sustainability program. After months of collecting data, the campus is ready to share their findings at the Campus Sustainability Forum.

Group activities and new ideas will be presented at the forum, where local input and a large crowd are both encouraged.

The meeting will take place from 9 to 11 a.m., on Wednesday Oct. 23, in the Physical Education Building Room 215. The main goal is to get ideas rolling about the important parts of sustainability on campus and how they can be implemented into an achievable plan.

“We want as much student involvement as we can get,” said Adam Green, environmental studies professor. Green is in charge of the event and hopes to see new student partaking in the goals and ideas for sustainable resources.

In the two-hour program, faculty, staff and students will be separated into interactive groups where their ideas will be heard in hopes of creating new goals for Santa Barbara and its environment.

With a focus on making this an exciting event for everyone attending, Workshop Consultant Perrin Pelligrin is diligently working to make this forum a success.

“This is geared towards everyone interacting and developing future goals for the campus,” said Pelligrin.

During the program, students will be able to share ideas and see the process of how they would turn out if they were integrated into the school.
