Review: Jimmy Eat World’s new album boring

Jimmy Eat World‘s sixth full-length album “Invented” was released Sept. 28.

“Invented” starts off pretty strong with the lead song “Heart Is Hard To Find” which gives me the recognizable style of Jimmy Eat World.

I get rather disappointed while listening to the rest. Some of the songs are pretty dull, for example “Coffee and Cigarettes” and “Action Needs An Audience.”

However, there’s a great variety and style of the songs, and some songs are just more powerful than others.

The first single of the album, “My Best Theory,” has that recognizable Jimmy Eat World sound all over it but somehow I just don’t like it.

Simply described, it’s boring. The song doesn’t “speak” to me at all. The CD is something you listen to when you’ve already listened to everything else that’s out there.
