The Campaign for Student Success filmed their “Show Us Your Love” music video on campus to raise awareness for the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College.

Students, faculty, and other community members showed their love this Valentine’s Day by filming the music video on the lawn of West Campus.

“The purpose of the video is for student success, community fundraising, and to ‘show us your love,’” said Jesse Boels, City College student and film producer.

The Foundation is hosting a campaign to raise $1.5 million for City College. The campaign kicks off 4 to 6:30 p.m. March 15 in the Sports Pavilion when the “Show Us Your Love” music video will debut.

“Where Is The Love?” was originally recorded by hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas and was rewritten by City College Student Meighann Helene.

Hot pink and neon-green cutout hearts and sunglasses were used as accessories for individual and group pictures taken by City College film students.

“City College students benefit from everything the video is about,” said Gretchen Hewlett, Major Gifts Officer for the Foundation. “Students are the best representation of the college and community. People in the community have to know that students here are worthy of support and are appreciative.”

The Foundation is a non-profit fundraising organization for students. The organization increases students’ ability for success in their first years of college by providing scholarships and academic programs. The music video will appear on the Foundation’s website and will air on local television stations.
