British pop sensation Girls Aloud is topping the European charts with its latest CD “Out of Control,” released Nov. 8.
The band’s style is reminiscent of 90’s girl groups, but the Spice Girl wannabes are hardly original, and their music is best described as “fun to dance to”.
“Out of Control” disappoints with 12 tracks of boring fluff. The lyrics are expectedly terrible, and even their normal techno-girl-power flair is gone.
Not a single song is catchy, sexy, or fun. The success of the album’s hit single “The Promise” is a complete mystery as its repetitive lyrics and boring “Muzak”-style instrumentals make it difficult to listen to all the way through.
Hopefully their loyal following of teenage girls will forgive them for this album and continue to have dance parties to their earlier records.
