The Channels won several awards last weekend in Fullerton during the Journalist Association of Community Colleges Southern California conference.
Over 30 community colleges from all over Southern California competed at California State University, Fullerton. They participated in on-the-spot and mail-in competitions, as well as attending workshops and lectures.
Some noticeable awards for The Channels were general excellence online, critical review, copyediting and online photo-essay.
“I’m really proud and happy to see the staff rewarded for their hard work,” said Editor in Chief Kenny Lindberg. “Hopefully we can take the experience we got, build on it, and win more awards at the state level.”
The next conference will be the state conference that will take place next semester in Sacramento, where schools from all over California will be attending.
