Ask me About Sudan, a student-led coalition, is inspiring awareness of the genocide in Darfur this week on campus. They have joined with UCSB students to sponsor a community-wide awareness and advocacy campaign for humanitarian relief efforts in Darfur and South Sudan.
The Luria Library is incorporating a display and art exhibit, running from Nov. 10 -24.
A “Shop for Peace Marketplace” will be held Nov. 18 -20 on the West Campus walkway.
A screening of “Darfur Now” will take place at 6 p.m. on Nov. 19 in Physical Science-Room 101.
Sunday for Sudan, a 5K run/walk, will be held at noon on Nov. 23 at Ledbetter Beach. Participants can sign up at www.Active.com or by showing up on the day of the event.
The events will culminate with a presentation entitled “Sudan: Hear the Voices of the Voiceless,” including a screening of “Darfur Now” at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24 at UCSB’s Corwin Pavilion. The presentation will feature Sudanese refugee Nyoul Tong and Adam Sterling of Genocide Intervention Network.
