Brief – Workshop for potential transfer students

The Transfer Center will hold four workshops for students interested in applying to University of California campuses in the fall of 2009.

Two of the workshops will be oriented to explain the application process, including important tips and critical deadlines. These will take place between 1 and 2 p.m. on both Wednesday Oct. 22 and 29, in room 161 of the Administration Building.

“The workshop helps to understand requirements and differences between UC and CSU applications,” said transfer center employee Adrian Contreras. Contreras is an Art Studio major with plans to transfer.

The two other workshops will focus on the personal essay portion that is required for admission into the UC system. Those workshops will take place between 10 and 11 a.m. on both Friday Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, in room 2 of the East Campus Classroom’s.

“They will explain to you how to write your personal essay,” Contreras said.

To attend any of these four workshops students need to register at Student Services, room 140 or call 730-4347.
