City College’s communication department is hosting the 24th annual Lancaster Speech Showcase at 7 p.m Monday at The Garvin Theatre.
The evening will feature five speeches on various topics. The five finalists were narrowed downed after about 150 hopeful students entered the contest. The five finalists will present their speeches lasting 5-7 minutes.
First place will be awarded with $500 and the Louis Lancaster Award. Second place winners will receive $300, third place $200 and $100 will given to both fourth and fifth place.
Admission is free, but seats are limited.
