CD Review: Cobblestone Jazz-“23 Minutes”

Cobblestone Jazz released its new album Oct. 15 called “23 seconds” containing 19 songs including the hit single and title track “23 seconds.”

Danuel Tate together with Tyger Dhula and Mathew Jonson, form Cobblestone Jazz.

This Canadian group from Vancouver focuses largely on live performance and improvising at its shows. This unique genre of electronic music mixes with drums, bass lines and a few other elements creating an easy harmonic framework.

The tracks were good quality, however their downfall was that they were rather long. Only one song is under six minutes. It feels like the band would be much more interesting live than on the CD, or maybe it’s just this genre you have to connect with live instead of through your stereo speakers. To all electronic music fans this is what you have been waiting for, the Canadian group will give you what you crave.
