The Vaqueros improved their home record to 3-1 by beating the winless East L.A. Huskies 34-23 Saturday at La Playa Stadium.
The Vaqs scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and solid defense didn’t give an inch to the lowly Huskies.
Rahnee Denard had 23 carries for 96 yards on the chilly night by the beach. Conner Rehage came into the game after halftime for the injured Nick Acciani and threw two touchdown passes.
“It’s extremely important to win games that you should win,” head coach Craig Moropoulos said. City College’s record now stands at 3-5 overall with a 2-3 record in conference. Their next game will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday when they will take on West L.A. College at La Playa Stadium.
