The 21st annual Lancaster Speech Tournament was held May 27 in the Garvin Theatre.
Tournament finalists were Amy Ford and Oscar Lusth. Second place went to Eric Ramirez and third place to Shawn Jacobson. The Louis Lancaster Award went to Jessica Smart.
Emma Rollin, City College communication professor, was the tournament director.
“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to everyone who helped make the 21st annual Lancaster Speech Tournament a success,” she said. “Thank you for all your time, energy and work. Many of the students and audience members spoke to me about feeling inspired by the theme and speeches.”
The speeches can be viewed on Channel 17 later this month. Paper copies of the speeches are available by the end of this week.
