Bike to School Day, Tuesday, is a way to encourage children to use alternative transportation to school.
“Bike to School Day provides a glimpse of what every day might look like if families walked and biked to school. The streets and parking lots are calm and children arrive to school refreshed,” said Jessica Scheeter, executive director of the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation.
The students who bike this day will receive prizes of safety stickers and snacks.
This month the Santa Barbara city received grants to improve traffic safety in school zones.
