Brief – Friday morning meeting canceled

The Associated Student Senate did not meet at its scheduled time last Friday to avoid violating open meeting procedure.

The Student Senate is required by the Brown Act to post an agenda at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting time, with a brief description of each item on the agenda.

Student Director Any Fryslie said, non-compliance with this part of the Brown Act is why the Senate did not meet. She pointed out that many of the senate members are new to student government and are still learning new procedures.

Associated Student Body President, Joey Williams is responsible for posting the week’s agenda on time and in compliance with the Brown Act, Frisley said.
