Very fast and very loud: two characteristics that summarize the new album by the British indie rock, post-punk revival quartette known as one of those bands that were discovered trough file-sharing and fan-made demo tapes. The Artic Monkeys’ debut album, “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not,” (2006) became the fastest selling album in British music history and their new release, “Favorite Worst Nightmare,” shows the same potential of being a roaring success. The album-preceded single “Brainstorm,” is an undeniable hit. The lyrics have gone from expressing impatience and irony to expressing poetic love and the band’s observations of everyday life. The new album is evidence of growth and helps distinguish them from bands with similar sounds such as The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand.
