Vaquero Men’s Golf snatched their fifth Western State Conference title of the year at the Saticoy Country Club last Monday. The Vaqs took the meet 379-381, finishing two strokes below College of the Canyons.
“We’ve had a lot of close matches, but it’s been good for us,” Vaquero Matt Cowell said.
Cowell and teammate Eric Romero tied for first with 74 strokes on a 72-par course.
The men not only have control of the WSC, but are also ranked first in all of Southern California. The Vaqs earned a silver medal in last year’s state finals, and Cowell said that this year they’re “ready to take on the title.”
