Roger Green, husband of newly appointed Board of Trustees member Sally Green, passed away Jan. 19 in Carpinteria, Calif., after a brief illness.
Green said she feels her husband’s pride in her for taking the position at the college.
“He really wanted me to take this position and he’ll be with me in all that I do,” she said.
In a recent campus-wide email, Superintendent-President John Romo expressed his condolences and support.
“I know you join me in extending our deepest sympathies to Sally and her family at this sad time,” he said.
Luis Villegas, president of the board of trustees, shared Romo’s sympathies.
Villegas said on behalf of the board, he is “very saddened by the passing of Roger,” and sends his best during this time.
A memorial service will be held for Roger Green at All-Saints-By-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Montecito on Feb. 10.
Following the service, there will be a celebration of life at the Lion’s Club in Carpinteria.
