Superintendent-President John Romo approved three new faculty positions Nov. 20 voted upon by the Academic Senate. The three openings will offer one full-time position in Alcohol and Drug Counseling, Radiography Technology and English as a Second Language, departments.

“This is a very exciting time for us since we are getting new faculty we need,” Academic Senate President Kathy Molloy said.

The ADC program offers certificates and training to students hoping to become counselors to treat those who have alcohol and drug addictions.

Radiography Technology also offers students the chance to participate in a certificate program for various areas of X-Ray, CAT scan and mammogram technicians.

ESL “works with immigrant and international students who need to learn English to continue their academic career and get better jobs,” Molloy said.

The job announcements will go out in December. The new faculty should be teaching by August 2007 for the Fall ’07 semester.
