City College takes first place in Western State Conference once again

The Lady Vaqueros succeeded in winning the championship in the Western State Conference for the second year running; this year’s match was held at the River Lakes Gold course in Bakersfield played Oct. 29-30.

“I am very happy with the way the girls played,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “We have talented players.”

“As a team the performance was fantastic,” said one of the star players of Lady Vaqueros, Natalie Todd. “We won, we cannot do anything more than that. I want to win state. I want to play well both as a team and individually.”

Victoria Alimonda expressed relief in the final result.
