Brief – Bulldogs take a bite out of Vaquero run defense

The City College football team suffered defeat again Saturday night, falling to the Alan Hancock College Bulldogs 36-56.

The score was tied 21-21 going into the third. A fumble by the Bulldogs gave City College an opportunity to take the lead, but the Vaqs were unable to capitalize. Instead, the Bulldogs exploited the Vaquero run defense, rushing for over 500 yards on the ground. City College is now 0-3, as a result of defensive breakdown.

“We’re not hitting well, which is why we need to work harder on tackling and getting off blocks,” coach Reggie Bolton said.

As all clouds have a silver lining, the Vaquero offense had a strong showing, keeping the up with the Bulldogs until the final minutes of play.
